little advanced for me! But some interesting things there including a rather nice v-neck jumper, essential for the woman in the forces!

Leo the Lion and Tim the Tiger look good though, not sure about the knitted knickers though - i think we're talking sag here aren't we girls, I personally need a little lycra round the undercarriage these days!

And I thought the point of a balaclava was to keep your ears warm

I do rather like the knitted waistcoats, though.

We've (as a family) given my dad so much stick for wareing a balaclava when he was younger. Not for wareing it, but for admiting that he hated it but didn't take it off at the end of the street when his mum couldn't see him.

I used to wear a balaclava when cycling to work in the snow. After about 15 minutes it is so warm you have to roll it up to look like a woolly hat or you get chapped skin all around your mouth and chin.
Ive got some Odhams knitting books with patterns for knitting undies for men and women which look a bit more ordinary than the 1940's ones, mine are from 194/50's.I've often fancied giving them a go in 3 ply but dont know what OH would think
My socks are all knitted from these books so I expect the socks on the site would be fine.
Maybe you could wear the usefull helmet in your motorcycle crash helmet to keep your hair clean? OH has a liner for his but it doesnt have a very large eye opening and must get so hot.
