It has been over a week now and I am still getting gusts of feathers appearing as if by magic every time I open a window upstairs. It was my only decent feather pillow as well.

Looks like an outside dog to me! Put it this way it would only ever have done that once in my house!

He is a pup of 9 months and I had shut the dogs upstairs whilst I shopped as I thought it safer than downstairs as they escape from the garden. It looked so awful I had to laugh myself (or cry)

We came home once to find a very happy spaniel puppy and the stairs liberally strewn with chewed up toilet rolls and candles. She had been left in the charge of teenage daughter who fell asleep. I remember to this day the look of utter horror on said daughter's face as she saw the devastation (and realised what trouble she was in!)

It is very naughty but imagine what fun he had.

Ripping to shreds the marauding invaders, before he lay down. Spent, but satisfied.
A job well done, she'll thank me when she gets home.

Dogs eh, were'd we be without 'em.

Why I would never own a dog. I view them as farm animals that should live outside.

If that's how you feel then you don't deserve one.

You'll never have the pleasure of greeting the morning, every morning, with unbridled joy, with a dog to show you how.
You'll never laugh out loud, at your dog, when it knows your down in the dumps. And does a trick or two.
You'll not smile, a forced smile, when your dog comes home covered in fox shit, and is so pleased with itself.
You'll never get a little gash on your forehead that was a demonstration of an overly affectionate dog.
You'll never know, never see, the sparkle in a dogs eye, when its just dug something up, from the mud.
Or from under 3 feet of snow. As my blessed boy just did.
You'll never feel so blessed as to share your time on this planet with a dog that adores you.
You won't ever swim in the summer sea with a smiling dog, at your side, making sure your okay.

And to finish. You'll never be close to tears when you think how much you love your dog, and how much he loves you.

I'm his best friend and his God. He's my best friend and my God.

Three cheers for dogs

Aww...how true.
Today my dog woke me up with big hug resting her head on my face..or did she use it as pillow..and when I moved the kissing started..
Today she gave me pleasure of her company for hour or so while I was working outdoors....then she did disappearing act... ..that resulted me worrying over her for whole half'n hour ..eventually found her, and she just had little look over neighbours gardens..when I questioned her about her walked abouts, the look I got back was pure innocence.. like butter would not melt in her mouth.
Today she crash landed on front of fire and slept like baby...whimpering in her sleep...giving me a pleasure to cuddle next to her for few minutes and have little nap too.
Today she rewarded me with biggest possible wag of her tail when she got yummy food for dinner..and I'm sure there was big smile on her face too.
And now she sleeping next to my OH...while I'm starting my midnight 'shift' with spinning wheel..no doubt in a hour or so she will come and check me out that everything is ok...and we shall have cup of tea and bickie together..
Best thing is that I can experience most of that every day and have many laughs and smiles on my face just because the way she is..LOVE....

And you've reminded me why I miss my girl so very very much - despite 6 cats, a rabbit and 2 snakes the house is very quiet these days!
