This is very good news, but in the 48 page booklet all they say about what can go in the box is:
Quote:

What you can put into your box

Paper e.g. newspapers, magazines, junk mail, envelopes, telephonme directories, office grade paper etc.

Card e.g. clean food packagine, egg boxes, junk mail.

Cans e.g. clean food and drink cans.

Textiles e.g. clean textiles bagged separately please.

Aluminimum foil e.g. clean cooking foil, take away containers. No foil-covered plastic please.

There is no list of what you can't put in the box.

Now I don't think i'll struggle too much figuring the rules. But this strikes me as a very inadaquate explanation

Is this me being picky?

You're being picky

Your scheme sounds more convenient than ours. Phone books have to go into the composting bin rather than the recycling bin, and we have to pull the plastic windows out of envelopes before they go in for recycling.

It takes no time to get used to such a scheme, though, and it's easier than carrying it all down to the recycling centre.

No question it is a good scheme, no more trips to the bottle bank for a start

Just think in 48 pages, they could manage more than a paragrpaph on wtf to put and not put in the box!

That's the point really just about every other page is a full page picture of random rubbish, bulldozers, a cute kid, and so on

They do manage to tell you your collection day, but not as I realised just in time this morning, but I bet half my neigbours didn't that the recycle truck was coming round at 8.30 am much earlier than we have been used to for rubbish collection.
