We have just put up a new one of these, out old one has just about ripped itself to shreds.

They seem to come in two varieties, those with clear polythene and those with a fibre grid interwoven with the polythene cover.

With the clear ones, once they start ripping they will continue to rip. It really is much better getting the interwoven type.

Yes it is. Either that or have a reel of gaffer tape handy. Trouble is, it seems to be the seams that rip rather than the plastic.

Are the interwoven covered polytunnels much more expensive than ordinary polythene? We were thinking of getting one for our windy site - but I don't really know where to start!

Anyone got any companies/suppliers they could recommend?

I've never used one, I'll have a hunt around though.

Try Northern Polytunnels at www.northernpolytunnels.co.uk , their hobby range look good and apparently they are the only ones that let you adjust the hoops to tighten the sheet, essential when it's windy.

The small ones (10') don't seem to have provision for ventilation

I think they were about £15-£20 pound more.
