Price and quality imported mushrooms.
In my country, Portugal, forest mushrooms are not part of the daily diet of most people and consecuentemente there is a large volume of export of wild mushrooms to the countries of Central Europe.
The export is done from several Portuguese and Spanish entermidiarios (3 or 4), paying those who collect mushrooms in the forest a very low price, as Girolles (Cantharellus cibarius) provide about 3 kg, ceps (boletus edulis) 11 kg, Pied Mouton (Hydnum repandum) 2 kg yellow materials (Craterellus lutescens) 1.5 kg, Lactarius 0.75 kg.
In reaching the consumer weeks after harvest, arriving at hand state of conservation.
The prices of forest mushrooms in Central Europe are around 25-35 .
It would be possible to take the mushrooms directly to europe center of consumers without pasar by the entremediarios, with more competitive prices and better quality?
Transport costs for small orders from Portugal to the heart of Europe with delivery in 2-4 days and about 3 -8 per kg.
Thank U.

hello ,as usual with new folk and trade goods it is a good idea to say hello and introduce yourself.we have an introduce yourself section and we are quite friendly .
im a forager for personal use and would not be happy trying to make a living on the prices you are offered considering how much time searching can be required per kilo of shrooms found.
that few people in portugal eat mushrooms surprises me but it is good for those who do collect and eat them ,the british are becoming less scared of wild shrooms but they are still a minority interest especially as far as picking ones own, even folk who will forage plants seem scared of learning mushroom identification.i think there ar less than 20 regular shroom collectors on downsizer and most people i have met over the years when i have been foraging look at me like im very crazy to want to eat the "deadly toadstools" |

I'll give3 it a try
In essence I think what dpack is trying to say is that foraging is fine - but foraging for commercial purposes is perhaps not in accordance with noble principles |

I'm surprised it's not just been deleted as spam. Polite spam, maybe, but spam all the same.
If it looks too good to be true, it generally is.

i dont feel it is proven spam,it might well be a Portuguese forager with no local market and a love of shrooming ,ds would show up on a search for folk who like wild food ,good food (and shrooms pickers )
im game for seeing if they say hello
there are folk on here who supply game, meat, fibres etc (and services) in our happy village way, iirc there have been some forage/hunt exchanges included in trades .
perhaps the language difference and being new to ds should not be assumed to indicate bad intent
i have taken a very different attitude to a well known kitchen rogue for instance |

On target spam, is a better grade of spam than cheap kitchens. |

What developments would that be Deepers? A cheap kitchen, or perhaps a condo in the Algarve? |

please have a poke around the downsizer site and im sure you will find things of interest to join in with .we are generally quite friendly but some folk think first posts that are mostly advertising are usually spam or worse.sometimes they are and sometimes they are not .

it is sometimes a difficult call as to who is genuine and who is a scammer especially when we are relying on translation software which is often a bit random when it tries to transpose phrases by translating the words .
try "i'm tickled to death by that" from english into mandarin and back for instance which will come out as something like "i am tickled by death"
anyway back to mushrooms .there are a few threads in foraging about things we have found or looked for recently ,how does our common species compare to your ones ? |

Sod that. Try translating any of your posts into English, and see the hilarity. |
