What with the festive season, these things seem to be breeding.
A few are useful for keeping things in, but any ideas for the rest of them?
Or just whack them in the recycling bin?

My daughter has one of the plastic ones, with holes drilled in the lid, as a portable cage/ safe space for her hampster.

give them a quick squirt with a pretty shade of car paint and they become much more attractive for stacking up as storage boxes, much easier to palm off on people when they look all posh and shiny rather than advertising a brand of choccies

I find those big 'Biscuits for Cheese' plastic tubs really useful for storing food/cake/bread, or small homebrew kit.

Metal tins (I find) go rusty in the end, but until then, they are good as mouseproof food storage, and for DIY / gardening bitsnbobs

the metal ones are good for a first stand first aid kit dotted around the place. rodent proof and damp proof too.
