How old are they Sally? Girl who works for us is buying a house, and wants to get kittens when she moves in - beginning of November.

We guess they are three-four weeks so November would be fine if she took the mum as well. However, last week in October we are hardly here, so whilst I can keep them for about a fortnight or so I don't think I can leave them fend for themselves at the end of the month. (Hagl is well trained to cope for 48 hours if we hide food strategically round the house, couldn't do that for more than one cat though)

The mum is a nice little cat, this is her second litter we think and she's about 2 years old. She's friendly and pretty and would do someone really well, just needs a bit of peace and feeding up and a swift trip to the vets as soon as she stops nursing.

The cat saga continues. We've been trying desperately all week to find them a proper home (and a million thanks to Moonwind who has been going to enormous lengths to help), and I really thought we'd got somewhere for them this morning. However, that fell through and I was starting to think that the only option would be the cat rescue place, and I really don't want to send them there

Gareth has said that if we can get Hagl to accept her, we can try keeping the cat, which means we'd have more time to rehome the kittens as they become ready to move on. I've got slightly mixed feelings, not becasue I don't like her she's a sweet little cat and she's lived in the street all her life so she knows where she is, more worried about getting Hagl to calm down.

We're away tomorrow night so I'll get Gareths mum to pop in on sunday morning to feed and clean them out, and we'll see then whether mr melodrama himself has stopped throwing catty wobblies every time he sees them.

sigh

its all so complicated

I get the impression that Hagl has only one eye, a torn ear, and walks this a determined gait.

Mountain Ash (Just above Pontypridd)

Hagl, in himself, is a fine, handsome cat, sadly he was badly abused as a kitten and yo-yos between sanity and complete gibbering terrors. (bit like a lot of us then really ) For some reason he refuses to go near Gareth and treats me as his personal security blanket

mostly they learn to accept each other in time sally

we have introduced all ours at different times and after a couple of weeks of big tails, spitting and moaning they seem to get on with it and then one wonderful day you find everybody curled up in a heap in one of your arm chairs

stick with it.............it's probably only because she doesn't smell right to him.............different smell = invaders...........few weeks later, same smell= friends

works for our lot

good-oh. They do know each other as she has filched food from him since she was a kitten herself, its just getting him used to her living here that may take time.

If it want bad for the kittens I'd just dope the pair of them on plague-rats and let them sort it all out whilst they were all tanked up and fuzzy inside
