I have agreement to hens and alpacas in principle, space permitted (which at the moment it doesn't) but he's got a flying/stinging thing phobia, so I' not allowed them until we have space for them to avoid each other. I'm trying mead, but it takes sooo damn long. I put it on at Christmas, and it's still bubbling away every 20 minutes or so.

Some of our bees are offspring from the original colony we got from the bee club---last year we bought 2 new nucleuses from easy bee with carnolian bees ---they are much gentler, overwintered well and are doing o.k.---our original bees are probably a british/italian cross--they are great honey producers but vicious little s**s- I would reccomend the carnolians for starting and they are cheaper than thornes

Yes, I've been wittering on about it for so long, he'll do anything to shut me up! And he has a soft spot for them really!

Well my bees really are coming at the weekend!! Two full hives from a bee society lady who is moving abroad. Can't wait

Yup, they're already making it!! To be honest I'm as interested in the beeswax as the honey. I buy loads at the mo for making lotions and potions, it'll be great to have my own.

Oh I'm sooooo jealous - I'm probably going to get bees this year but I'll have to wait until the bee club has raised some nuc's I went to the beekeeping course last night and had a fantastic time - we made frames and talked about bees for ages - it was lovely
