When i switch on my laptop I get this message..
"Windows cannot find 'C;\windowa\system32\nnlj.exe

I then press OK and get
"Could not load or run 'C;\windowa\system32\nnlj.exe specific in the registry. Make sure file exists or remove reference to it in registry.

So I continue, only to get this message a few minutes later

"The instruction at Ox77f51ed3" referred to memory at Ox909006e3
The memory could not be read.
Click OK to terminate the program.
Click cancel to debug the program.

Once this happens the computer switches itself off.....

can anybody tell me if these two things are connected, and what is my best course of action.

Thanks
D

Is the data on the laptop important?

If it is I suggest seeking the help of someone who has dealt with this type of problem before. It's difficult to do this remotely. Once cleared you'll need to ensure that Windows update is performed regularly or set to automatic and that your anti-virus is set to update daily.

If you're happy to loose the existing data then a complete re-install will work but this is time consuming.

An alternative is to recover to a previous set point but this is dependant on which version of Windows you have and whether this functionality has been enabled. Again, better to have someone on hand whos knows what they are talking about.

Before you reinstall everything, try going here:

https://spywarefiles.prevx.com/RRIIGE24980183/NNLJ.EXE.html

With any luck, it will save you some time. I can't vouch for the site, but with any luck this will enable you to remove the nasty without too much hassle.
