If someone had told me when I was 19 that I'd be suffering from sock envy when I was 40 I would have laughed in their face

Ok, I'm sold on the idea. Funnily enough, has anyone noticed how the sale price of bond knitting machines has gone up a bit on ebay since we started this thread?

Yeah I noticed that Sally. It's my fault. As soon as I decide I want something it's suddenly priced out of my range

I thought it was me- having decided that I could go to maybe £20 for a machine plus postage, they are suddenly going for £35

Suddenly everybody wants to knit!

I spent yesterday morning teaching a pal how to machine knit while Fabrice (my OH) took her dog to a training park for Sanglier hunters. (I sell loads of socks there! )

As soon as I track down a cheap enough machine, someone is going to have to explain how to machine knit a sock. I can do em on 5 needles, but the thought of whizzing them up in the flat sounds rather fun

Sally,

I made a post in here ages ago (with pics) about sock making.

I'll have a look and see if I can find it.

I'll give you all the help I can.

HWH

Ps. If more people wore comfortable socks, the world would be a happier place!

No problem - and well done on your bargain buy!

I don't have a scanner, but I can take photos of the instructions and send them to you.

...Or I could take pics of how I use my machine (a bit like a Bond) and post them in here for everybody to see who is learning machine knitting...

perhaps you could post on here for all to see. then when everyone else manages to get a machine we will all be able to use it and hopefully not bother you too much

stacy i found this on ebay

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Bond-Chunky-Knitting-Machine-boxed-with-accessories_W0QQitemZ8219187217QQcategoryZ28146QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

dont know if you have seen it already, but it is in cornwall, maybe they are near you, so perhaps you could pick it up personally rather than having to pay the postage.
