I have just cooked a rather nice gammon. I've cooked them before in Cola, but this time decided to try ginger beer. So, a large bottle of ginger beer (extra fiery) went into the pot along with the gammon. Nothing else. And cooked. Turned out really nice!

Wouldn't have thought of mixing those two, but now you mention it, I might have to give it a go
