I got a parcel on Friday evening when I got in from work and my wifee said "your mums sent you some more plants by the look of it" and when I openned it, the most gorgeous smell came out that it threw me for a few moments as to what they were and therefore who from?

The leaves do look a bit like garlic chive, being flatish, but the bulbs were all stuck together and looked like old spring onions

I got them planted on saturday in the herb garden and still cant get over the wonderful smell coming from them, Its brill

Well, I got yours off at last onejohndog, and just to show how big Sorrel gets, heres a pic of my greenhouse with self sown plantlets (ie. what I have sent out) centre right and parent plants on the left

As far as my dim memory serves me, I dont remember it being anything other than "sorrel" on t'packet but I still have the packet and will have to check but you may well be right

I got the seeds from T&M so will check website as this will be quicker at getting an answer

As a point of interest, it didnt look any different to the sorrel being grown outside at AudleyEnd House' kitchen garden. Got a pic of that on home PC, so may post it when I get home.

EDIT: Nope! only had blood veined sorrel on the web site, so maybe I didnt get them from there!!! I'll just have to find the packet anyway

BTW CAB, did you notice I havnt killed my carniverous plants and one has actually got a little pink flower!!!! On the floor was the only place it was happy, being shadded by the other plants, so thanks for your advise

That's what I like to hear, happy carnivorous plants Saw some native sundew on Lewis this summer. Beautiful wee things. Probably is large leaved French sorrel, not a lot of people plant the smaller leaved (wild) version, which is a shame because I think it's better in salad than the bigger one.

I'm very pleased with it regardless of which, but if your right, I would like to try some wild sorrel, at least for comparison
