We were given rhubarb last week from a sheltered garden in Straiton. Very nice indeed in a crumble

I was thinking earlier than it won't be long before I can pick some of mine. It's looking really good this year.

moved mine last year - looks like I could pick some now - still have some in the freezer though, so might leave the plants to settling in and eat up the stores instead

I harvested a few sticks a few weeks ago from an early variety.... then the snow came and so there's been no growth for ages.... However just today I noticed the early variety is going strong again... The others are just getting going.

Which reminds me rhubarb would be nice tonight.... Crumble anyone?

We'll be having rhubarb crumble tonight because I made cordial on Friday in an attempt to use up last year's before I start picking this year's.

We have had a couple of rhubarb n custard moments, all mine is quite well on but one is weedy and will get moved in the hope of be tater results next year. It should be the best as its nearest the compost bin.

Two out of three doing well (the two being Timperly Early and Victoria), but the third, Glaskins Perpetual, was slow to emerge and now appears to have been eaten by something It struggled last year too. I don't think being under the bay tree suits it.
