I like the idea of the copper pipe actually.

(Especially if it's hollow and small children can hoard useful things in them.)

Or you could try repurposing Tahir.

No. The copper pipe is the answer. Attractive, functional, tough and will actually increase in value. What's not to like?

Yep, but we have more than one project on, I don't think this is suitable for a cot (not for us)

What about some nice pieces of driftwood (small pieces obviously not thumping great logs).

We've got loads of bits of tree here, and we did think about using it, but the furniture's all in ply. We didn't think anything that natural would go with it.

It doesn't 'GO' with it but it's a contrast, the contemporary with the rustic, lovely.

wood goes with wood so stick or narly bit or shaped bit will look ok with ply

rope works ,a knot inside and out threaded through a hole

strap nailed on will work or strap under two straps (like old trunks) and are flat when not in use

real antique handles can be got in sets are often quite cheap for the age and complexity of em .i rather like the idea of queen anne roundel/loop on brand new ply

Nephew's cot will have recycled old belt, laundry cupboards will have copper pipe.

Just need to cut nice round ends on the leather...

you could put filler or dowel or something in the copper pipe to stop it getting dented

Did think that, but probably be OK without, cheap/easy enough to replace if needed
