No sign here yet - too much rain But my neighbour 1 mile down the road had a killing frost about 5 weeks ago

Up here too. But not the first frost of the season Think that was early September ! Must get the rest of the beetroot lifted.

Lucky, lucky you - it's far too mild down here. No excuse for a fire in the evenings.....

It feels really weird not to need any central heating in November. I've only put it on a handful of times this autumn and then mainly to chase off the damp.... On this bright side I suppose I'm saving money on gas

I do love a whiff of frost on the air though

i thought it would frost here last night, cold and clear skied, but it clouded over by 9pm and didn't happen, was a good enough excuse for an open fire though.

We had our first proper frost on Wednesday. We are forecast to pop below freezing on Tuesday (-0.2°) and go to -0.6° on Thursday. I'm lighting the fire every night now, but at least the CH is still mostly off.

I've got 6 m³ of green wood arriving on Saturday, so I should be OK for next winter. €55 per m³. I've also ordered 2m³ of dry wood from another supplier, which will come in two weeks. Until then I'm buying it in little bags, which have probably been shipped miles.

not rare just later than i remember . i dont think i've seen a year with no frost by now .

Frosty here to , though not car covering levels. Certainly enough after the unseasonal weather recently to remind me what the real time of year is.

we had a nice frost this morning that necessitated scraping the car before setting off nice crunchy grass and the air so clear i could hear the goats ears slapping when they shook their heads and millie braying for breakfast a quarter of a mile away......i like weather like that - much nicer than interminable wind and dreary grey skies

microclimates

. i am going to be very careful where i pick if i move again ,a few miles seems to make loads of difference to the temp, rainfall etc . this one huddersfield has changed loads since the 1960s ,it is now drier ,much warmer and less windy than it was, all of which are good for an urban redneck like me

half the broadleaf trees are only now starting to turn , the rest are still yellow with most leaves still hanging . climate change seems to be a postcode lottery .
