azure and common blue damsel flies in considerable numbers and a few of various other sorts

tansey beetles where i would expect them by the tansey beetle pond on rawcliffe meadows and also in 2 places on clifton ings sssi where they are expanding to as i hoped they might

assorted butterflies common and less so

a very healthy colony of medicinal leeches

a very tiny fish and a couple of types of water snail

and quite a few horseflies which made themselves unpopular and among the bigger critters an unidentified bird with an orange colour on it.


a rather nice couple of hours hound walking

A wren, nesting in the ivy I think, and 6 deer crossing the road in front of the car.
