is there a "secure" alternative to skype(which demonstrated it's weaknesses very soon)

ie chat "face to face" ,sms ,share files etc etc

if i understand the world using tor and pgp on a linux system is fairly secure(at least in real time) for data but if folk needed to conference call in private what would you folk use ?

TeamViewer. But, as with all things, you need to trust the host company.

Run it through a VPN, to give yourself the extra thrill of being untrackable. Mine accused me of being in the UAE the other day, when clearly, I wasn't.

(Unless Syria has annexed it, and told no-one. )
