Mine already is almost, its certainly more than they would pay out if it was written off and even though I am fully comp with over 10 years no claims it just keeps going up every year.

The son of One of the guys I work with passed his test and it was 2.5k for a vauxhall astra. This year they are taking out daily policy at £50 a day when they need to use it.

I'm the same as you Pilsbury. Keeps going up every year. I've got quote off the comparison sites though that are c£200 cheaper so I'm going to switch. I think if you stay with an insurance company they extract the urine.

It makes you wonder how much it would cost to buy a really old banger. Plonk it on your drive but not drive it and just leave it there to help build one years no claims.

No need to even go to the hassle of moving. Just go to a quote site, get a new quote and then phone up your insurer and say that you've got a comparative quote from whoever for whatever and almost always they will suddenly be able to match it.

Indeed Pilsbury and it's not right when ones insurance probably costs more than what the car is you buy.

The problem is not the cost of what you drive but the cost of what you might hit.

My renewal quote was £2450, the £1000 is through a comparison site lol.

Nice one JB. I'd not thought of doing that.

I heard on the radio the other day about how some insurance companies just won't insure anyone in certain postcodes, as company policy, so I guess that distorts the market too.

I'm driving nick's old 02 plate Ford focus estate. In dagenham where the old Ford plant is lol. I have had companies refuse to quote me for motorbike on my postcode as well.

It wasn't just down to crime rates but things like the number of people who had claimed for whiplash in that specific postcode.

Ah I see.

I know people are angry because they have been injured but surely this "lets sue em" attitude people have these days only hurt themselves and others as we all end up paying for it. Not the insurance companies.

We have just got insurance for J using these people - much cheaper than adding him to the normal insurance. I think it is a similar idea to the provisional marmalade lot.
