If there are no takers, try preloved. We've just sold this years excess soay on there and have a 6 strong reserve/waiting list.
Good luck,

Iirc, you'll need a flock number, but Defra will give you this in a phone call.

cheers Nick, does the land need to be registered to get a flock number like with pigs. I dont have a smallholding number anymore as we moved and its not really worth it here as we only have a few acres.

Yes, you'll needs holding number. I assumed you had one. I've not had sheep, but I have a flock number, I think. As they gave me one when I got my holding number. All just instant phone calls.

Beyond that, I dunno.

You should register it, and have sheep and piggies
Parents have a holding number for their pigs, but the land is only 40m x 8m at a guess.. not too much hassle to ring up. Mum didnt fill in the form for SFP when that came through

You can also have landless holdings, smallholdings without land & abattoirs can be two such examples.

I thought "I have an empty field now and the grass is growing"....
Then I beat myself over the head a little and sense has prevailed.
