2006 has greeted us with foul groundwater seeping from our new septic tank soakaways and pooling in the field above our veg patch (clay soil!). After frantic searches on the internet it appears a solution could be to convert our system into a reedbed system that will deal with foul water in winter and produce clean water for irrigation in summer.

It sounds fantastic; producing wildlife habitats and useful water from our domestic waste. Does anyone have experience of reedbeds? I am also trying to find out if any grants are available.

Not sure if the Clear skys grant covers this or just heating etc...maybe a starting place for you to get a grant anyhow...

Clear skies does appear to be only power generation/heating. Interesting site though, ta.
