I have an iphone 4, and OH had the galaxy. Iphone is more responsive on the screen. OH got fed up with it, so let dd have it, and used her upgrade for himself, on an iphone 5.

All depends on budget an what you're after in a phone.

Do you need to surf the web on the go ?
Do you need constant email capability ?
Do you already own stuff like an iPod dock station to listen to music ?
Do you get on with iTunes ?
Can you live with a second rate product for almost the same cost (both ethical and fiscal) as a top rate product ?
Do you want to pay anything for the phone up front ?
etc etc etc
I love my iPhone 4 and would happily upgrade if I could justify cost in current economic situation (personal not worldwide)
Also I'm a bit of an apple fanboy. It's pretty

well tomorrow we going to look at the phones OH looks to be headed toward the 4s. im still toward the s3. im not tempted by the 4s in slightest atm. been advised if we got ipod dock i pod connecters etc that the 5 wont fit so will need all new connectors to make it capable. so 4s it looks to be yes i tunes is great if OH had the chance to use it and with 4s she will do we use it minimal now but with 4s will be used more. im not fussed on email(even though job searchs getting emails on phone is . im always on FB and ebay forums on my phone. and im intrested in a few apps just got to find them. i was using my HTC to connect lappy to internet so having that was good.

I've used a number of phones recently and I've gone back to using a Blackberry Bold 9700.

I didn't like Android, difficult to say way exactly but I didn't get on with the interface. I dislike iPhones for much the same same reason, functionality count doesn't beat usability IMHO.

Windows phone is great as a tool and has very easy and comfortable interface but as a phone like the Android and iPhone it leaves something to be desired.

The Blackberry is less ideal as a general purpose tool but is a great communications device. It has some idiosyncrasies but they appear largely to have been ironed out as the OS develops. The screen is small but so is the handset which makes it much more useful as a phone.

I now use 3 phones on a day to day basis. The Windows phone and a Nokia 100 plus the Blackberry which is my main phone. Why so many? We need them to test the mobile web sites we build.

I had a BlackBerry Bold 9700 until very recently; trouble was once it started to go wrong it went downhill very quickly & became unusable....so I plumped for what is known here as the "builders' phone" Samsung something-or-other; can be dropped, thrown, etc; very basic email capability, crap camera, but it bounces when it hits the ground....don't think iphones bounce as well as this one.

I will get a new BlackBerry soon, don't like iphones at all

Whatever you buy avoid doing it on Orange - I have had a contract with them for a month now and depite hours on the phone to them (mostly on hold) the problems are still not resolved properly.

Battery life on the iPhone is very poor. I use one for work and a Blackberry for personal use - I'd go for Blackberry every time.

How poor is very poor? My HTC gets used quite a lot during the day for surfing the web & checking e-mails and needs charging every 1 - 1.5days, so I usually charge it at night, but it charges within a couple of hours.

I can just about get through one day without a charge on the iPhone, and I don't use it a great deal, the Blackberry will last 3/4 days used much more for both calls and internet use.

I get the same charge length from both iPhone and blackberry, but the iPhone never crashes, freezes, takes ten minutes to reboot, and has usable apps. But, you can replace the battery on the blackberry without needing tools.

I have never had a problem with my BB, but to be fair, my wife did have a problem with hers. I don't like the iPhone, its very heavy, it seems (though angin, it may be just an impression) that it is very vunrable with that huge glass front, and I don't really use apps.
