Anyone got the new Billy Bragg album? I quite like what I've heard so far, especially as there's a song about being rubbish at DIY.

Sean, have you been listening to the new British Sea Power stuff. It's great. A bit like...Elbow, I suppose.

Machineries of Joy, I'm thinking of.

I haven't seen him for years now. He always says he wants gigs down this way but his agent doesn't seem to feel the same way.

I like the way that he's been spoofing the whole reform-and-perform-your-most-famous-album-in-order gig thing by doing the whole of Life's A Riot With Spy vs Spy as an encore.

Yeah, the encore thing is pretty funny, but blimmin' good too if the new DVD is anything to go by.

You'd think he'd push for gigs in the south west, what with living there and all...

Mind you, Seth Lakeman's the support so probably best if he stays away from you...

The Folk Orchestra was his support act a few years ago. Sort of. We played at the same festival as him on the same day. Separated only by being on different stages and at opposite ends of the day.

Last time I bump this old thread, but... flippin' Nora, what a night that was! Uncle Bill played for nearly two and a half hours with band and solo, Phil Jupitus resuscitated Porky the Poet, Frank Turner guested looking like the cat who'd got the cream, the roar of approval for a Bob Crow dedication was very moving, and the incredibly raucous finale of "Waiting For The Great Leap Forward" and "A13" blew the bloody doors off!

If only all gigs were like that
