Hello all,
I'm delighted to announce that FINALLY my book is available on pre-order and will be on general release from 2nd May 2019.
It's been a long time in the making and I'm sure all you smallholding, rural people will find something of interest in it.

So the pre-order link is here http://shop.posthousepublishing.com/The-Sustainable-Smallholders-Handbook

Please share and also look on my FB page Sustainable Smallholding for lots of photos and news.

Thank you.

Thanks both. Its been a slog. 70,000 words.....
Of course its never gonna make me rich, so the next book will be a bonkbuster set in the Dordogne. Im changing my name as ill be terribly embarrassed.

So what will Nom de Plume be?

I vote for Brigitte Bonkalot.... I'm sure the other DS members will come up with some suggestions.

Doing the book has been great. Therapeutic and hard work, but the editing was the worst. Id love to do a serious book on apples, orchards and cidermaking, but would also include French so I need to do some research.
France is great - no regrets - it was a good move for us. We are 'in the system' now with Carte Vitale's and health insurance which isnt as much as we feared, and its top notch.
As we still dont know whats happening with Brexit we cant get a residency card as our department has spat the dummy as there are over 20,000 Brits applying in just our department. But our maire says they wont fling us out.

Our gite bookings have taken a hit because of Brexit - people are frightened to book in Europe we think, although we have other Europeans booking so it may be a lean year.

Right now today, we are working in the woods, removing leaning trees and strimming paths clear. We've already seen our red squirrels and the deer have been running past the living room window in the evening, so all well.
Bonkbuster - Ill need a different publisher or self publish (my current publisher wont print anything like that), but havnt started this yet.

The book is hopefully going to do well, and if folk will share it - that would be great.

Not surprised to see bookings are down. Whatever happens, and whatever you think of Brexit, it's causing uncertainty right now. Today, people don't know how easy travel will be over the next few months, how much the pound will be worth, and for some, if they'll have a job or business. I remain hopeful the uncertainty about some of these things will be resolved shortly, and bookings pick up.

As for a n-d-p.... Hm.
