that's amazing the only other "lethal gene" I have seen was Gene Vincent but I think his was to do with alcahol.

The commentary only gets interesting when the woman starts talking:
"These goats are called myotonic goats, many people call them fainting goats, wooden leg goats, stiff leg goats, nervous goats, Tennesee meat goats. They carry the hereditary gene for myotonia congenita. What happens is that when the goat is startled or excited it causes a very temporary stiffening of the muscles and when the muscles relax after a few seconds the goat jumps up and runs on its way. It can even be something as simple as being excited over being fed. The adult animals typically keep their balance better and what they will end up doing is bracing on four legs. "

it appears from wikipedia and another breed info website

that they probably arose in captivitity probably in tennessee in the 1800s

which explains why a largeish population of them has arisen
