Any recommendations for horse insurance companies. We're with Petplan equine at the moment but I'm about to look around for better value.

South Essex Insurance Brokers (SEIB) always used to be reasonable and quite efficient.

I have a couple of my horses with NFU (one fo rthe very good veteran policy and the foal as they didn't need a vetting like some do) and the other three with Pet Plan as they were cheaper but offered virtually the same plan.
I have no idea how Pet Plan pay out but had a claim with NFU last year for £1400 and they paid up very quickly.
there are loads you can get quotes with on-line now so have fun surfing!

I had a browse and got some alternative quotes yesterday from a bunch of alternatives but none were any more competitive than what we have at the moment. What I did notice however is that our policy for the last three years has been for Class 4 use including eventing etc. We only need to be in Class 2 use (hacking etc) so I expect a saving there.
