No - not a beauty treatment but something to help birds build their nests.

Many birds use mud to help construct their nests and sometimes it can get very dry and birds can have problems. Around the edge of my pond I leave a muddy patch especially for the birds to use. Tonight I've jest spent a few moments watching a female black bird collect several beakfulls and fly to a group of bushes on the edge of our garden.

Take care to protect the pond liner and if you don't have a pond you can keep a patch of soil very damp at this time of year. Every little helps.
