A couple have joined the Swindon one. I think it is worth doing alone, as people will join via their main web site.

I'm sure you're right, Jema, but how about a total techno-phobe like me doing it? I suspect that, even at a distance, I could cause the whole set up to collapse!

You might struggle Setting up a Yahoo group is a pain as the interface is totally cockeyed. You also have to answer 20 buerocratic questions from the organisers, which I must say really pissed me off

Just had a look and found one in the Cynon Valley! I'm moderately amazed really given this bit of Wales, but it has 27 members. Looks like its only been there a month or two so not much happening, but I will try to find something to give away and to introduce myself.

I expect it will take off, Swindon has attracted about 6 members so far, which might be a drop in the ocian but starting from 1 it ain't bad.

Well from my group here:

https://groups.yahoo.com/group/swindon_freecycle/messages

I think I might have finally managed to give something away. It was getting a little frustrating....

i recently joined edinburgh's freecycle group and i've received a huge stack of sci fi books (which i will offer up on freecycle when i'm done with them) i've also given away a baby float for the swimming pool and a cutlery tray.

i'm doing a major spring clean right now. 2 weeks from now we'll be having a wee boot sale sort of thing here in our block of flats (all the families do this) to get rid of most stuff and to put away for a few things we're wanting, mostly a sewing machine. whatever doesn't sell that i think will really be wanted i'll offer on freecycle the rest will go to the charity shop as usual...

it's a brilliant idea, freecycle, and a great way of making sure nothing goes to waste

my next port of call is to get that allotment and join the edinburgh LETS scheme...so little time, so little time
