Its as simple as this; 50g almonds (optional) 1 bunch basil or sorrel, 200g broad beans, 1 garlic clove chopped, 200g parmesan, 25mlolive oil, salt & pepper.

Toast the almonds in a frying pan until lightly browned, then let them cool down.
Then put everything into a food processor, switch on. Now I like my pesto quite coarse but its up to you. Also I dont always put the almonds in, I have freinds with nut allergies.
You can change this so much, peas are good. Just expriment if it doesn't turn out right give it to someone at work you dont like( did i say that out loud)

Happy experimenting, Steve

Sounds nice, like I said pesto has so many different ways to make it it's so good to experiment with.

Good timing there. I,m just off down to the co-op to get lemons to make some more lemon curd so i'll get the ingredients for the pesto too, and try it tonight. Thanks!

Made the pesto-very tasty! We've had it for tea with pitta bread and the lemon curd is cooling in the fridge ready for breakfast.

This is a good recipe to learn of. We have sown a row of broad beans and they are shooting but as neither us or the kids are all that keen on broad beans themselves it is good to fing a more adventurous use for them. THNX S

Just PM me for directions! I don't not lime broad beans .... I just find them a bit of a bore to cook with. They are lovely fresh from the pods in the garden
