I would think so - especially with the warm days, and the amount of leaves they have put on by now.
I know when you plant new runners, they need to be kept well watered throughout their first summer to establish well, so I guess it's a similar situation with the container - but our container grown strawbs are very much the "oh no we have too many runners, let's try forcing them" so I hope someone else will step in
