I've just heard today that I've passed my BBKA Basic Beekeeper's Assessment - 5 of us took the exam and all 5 passed although I was the only one who had kept bee's for only 12 months

Next stage is Intermediate - A much more rigorous and difficult qualification to get - You need to pass 4 modules Honeybee Management, Honeybee Products and Forage, Honeybee Pests, Diseases and Poisoning and Honeybee Biology - although you can take the Intermediate level Honeybee Biology but to go on further you need the full one anyway - My mentor has just passed the Intermediate level

Fantastic news for you and the bees, Jacorless!

How long did it take you to study and prepare?

I'm thinking of starting the same course soon.
