I am about to draughtproof the main living room (wooden floor on joists) and hallway. Do you think bubble wrap would do the job, properly fastened down between the floor and rubber backed carpet. I notice in a cupboard that I did some while ago that there is a great improvement, but am concerned about safety. Can but try, would it save heat energy do you think. Also have a host of other material, underlay, fibre board (what I call Airboard) and quite a bit of chipboard. Advice welcome.

Not to sure about the bubble wrap on safety grounds but all those popping sounds everytime you walk around the roof could get annoying

I don't know about bubble wrap, but the following website has some info on draught-proofing:

Useful site that, Yellowhouse....will go ahead and draughtproof just the hall..gotta be good if it works. The bubble wrap doesn't burst, the rubber backed carpet absorbs the spread....perhaps needs an underlay anyway. I see on Yellowhouse foil backed bubble is often recommended. Cheers thank you for rfeplies.
