Is it possible to buy a solar run pump that i can put on a timer that will be used to water a polly tunnel from a waterbutt, or two.

I'd expect that most solar water feature pumps would be fairly easily modified to take standard hose connections and so do a small but useful job... (Most such pumps won't do much lifting on the suction side, so mount it low and feed it from the bottom of the butt.)

Timer? Surely you could just arrange a 'solar timer' by adjusting the time that the cell is in the shade? (Like a sort of reverse sundial...)

Excellent idea, IMHO, because irregation demand is going to vary with availability of solar energy...

Good luck!

I'd run it from a trip connected to a float valve or similar. That way you maximise your efficient use of light.
