What Tahir said - an ornamental quince, but still perfectly edible / usable.
Quinces make wonderful jelly too - no need to core and deseed, just put them in the pan with water to cover, maybe chop ... |

I followed HFW's recipe for Elderflower bubbly and unfortunately i have no activity after 48 hrs. I now intend to add some yeast to get things rocking. can i use any yeast? e.g. bread yeast?
