The herbs you mention don't need covering over.
If the ground is really boggy you could construct a raised bed (that would rot fairly quickly if made from wood - maybe a tractor tyre?). |

I don't know about that Rob, Aussie imports seem to be the in thing at the moment, and they have hefty price tags. |
