I am trying to find a way of getting decent coffee into me at work - they have just changed to some narsty powdered stuff, and I am giving in and bringing my own - but they come with sooooo much packaging. I can't really be faffing about with caffitierereres, filters are far too much disposable plastic, and coffee 'bags' aren't much better (although they are a bit more biodegradable) Why can't you get tea bags with coffee in them?

Any suggestions, Dear Downsizers?

I wonder if a tea ball would work?

In places like Whittards you can get a mug with a lid that comes with a strainer insert, its intended for herb tea, but is ace for a no fuss one cup of coffee. Ours was bought a few years back but I woul dimagine they are still around

These in fact https://www.whittard.co.uk/ProductDetails.aspx?pid=121921&cid=t6032&language=en-GB You just tip a bit of proper coffee into the filter, top up the mug and fish out the filter after a few seconds, it tips out into the compost very easily

Do you have access to a cooker hob? A stove top espresso machine doesn't take much longer than boiling a kettle.

keep your eyes peeled, I found several similar on ebay just now under'infuser mug' or words to that effect, they are bound to be in other shops too

single cup filters which just take filter paper can be quite good
