Have started to see more butterflies. Silver washed fritillaries in the woods and some meadow browns today in grassland. I assure you that the bitey things are being as numerous as usual in the woods after rain.

Had this on our front room window yesterday. It stayed around for quite a while until the heavy rain made it move on.

nice moth snap, our windows are too victorian and/or too grubby to get a decent snap

a combo of suburban builders and two busy roads adds to the usual dust and grime that gets deposited
the back window usually has bird prints as well

sometimes i look for wildlife, sometimes it clambers into tt's sock

i have snaps for later and no idea what sort of huge beetle it was, it was released on the anti cartwheel in my wall corner and more recently huge spider releasing rock at the end of the alley(i did leave as fast as i could)

one of the justinson brothers, father of the most recent clutch of fledglings, snaps of them when i have checked the "contacts", i had a busy hour or so

the light was not great, but the birds were playing nicely

Good picture.

The butterflies seem to be out now. Have seen some silver washed fritillaries in the woods over the last fortnight. Husband says there were lots of red admirals yesterday, so must have been a recent hatch. Have seen a few unidentified ones go past and a good number of meadow browns last week.

young woodie was most obliging with the photoshoot

i hope it is ok, it was rather puzzled by the world, but it took a first bath rather stylishly and dined well on the sparrowfall

i recon the second justinson family has got the numbers of "local"sparrows into the low teens
i expect more as there are other justinson families in the area

rough cut from the dirty young pigeon snaps we did yesterday

i need to take some time to go through them and the ones from the day before

the recent sparrows are used to me now so they should be ok with being snapped

full fat is rather nice, the above is most of the frame so anything smaller than a full size billboard will print up nicely with all the details intact

Another nice picture. I haven't really been out and about much the last couple of days to see what is doing.

the "start to twist the pixels" sp 2 is fun, it probably would not work at ultra low res, so you will be spared
Jurassic park on opium and absinthe is an interesting vibe for a countryfile calender:lol:
