like that but more of it

it aint the countryfile style, nor is it a simple click the app look popular with some, even for nerds and a committee it would be too much to contemplate as the "my pouting face" template on most social media platforms

a mix of AI and natural stupidity can be quite disturbing

that is less upsetting than sp2

sometime one needs to self censor for the safety of the public

the best reaction i have had to my "art" was a cry of "es a dangerous satanist" before the "critic" fled from the images and premises

very guilty pope, last judgement end wall, etc probably was not as funny as barnsley meets me and the "zoo" series

I can't say the thing is very photogenic close up.

Went to have a closer look at the flowers down the road from us yesterday and the bit of downland turf on the bank is amazing. Some orchids; pyramid I think, but going over, harebells spreading from the hedge where they retreated during the regime of mowing at the wrong time of year, restharrow, bedstraw and a good few others. Really lovely. On the side road behind it there is a huge patch of wild thyme which will flourish in short grass and that bit is mown. The other patch which is regularly mown has a couple of scabious that have survived so far, and on my walk I also found some stemless thistles. Came back along a footpath that has hazel both sides and it was completely greened over. Useful as it was raining a bit so kept the rain off.

for a fluffy little fledgling, it is jurassically upsetting in looks

the full fat natural photo is even more disturbing than the tweaked and arty "prints"

young chickens(many chickens)have a bit of a hard to love look, young pigeons take the ugly duckling fable to extremes that surpass most avian performers

some dinosaurs might consider the dirty young bird rather plain

Agree about chickens; they always seem to be looking down their beaks at you even through you know they are less intelligent than yourself.

I'm afraid we have to report the demise of the four robin chicks while we were away.
It was horrendous weather while we were away, wet, cold and windy..so who knows what happened. Not enough food for the parents let alone the chicks? Did even the parents succumb to weather or predators?

are you sure they did not fledge? i cannot remember how long since they first got a mention or how old they might have been by then

they fledge at around 14 days after hatching and often change home if they chose to at that time.

any forensic?

Rather sad, but with the weather we have had, not at all surprised. I saw the remains of some small bird yesterday under the tree where we had set up for the show. There was a bumble bees nest in the little grove of trees we were next to, and something stung husband, but not sure what it was. He thinks not a honey bee as there was no sting left in it and it came up. He is pretty well immune to bee stings having been keeping them for over 40 years. Did see a few butterflies when the sun came out though.

Would the robins have anymore chicks this year or is it just one shot per year they have at it?

if they are alive, they will, but in a different nest.

happier birdtown news is that there are at least 4 justinson families, they total about 25 at the mo, and they all came for an afternoon seed party yesterday

rather nice, although the local diversity does seem heavily loaded to justinson male genes, that seems to have worked at the last major challenge, the next may be different and hard on them with few other genetic lines to fill the resulting gaps

i might have seen tweed 3, not sure , not seen it in a few days since first contact

If the robins are alive, hope they now find the des res we put up!
A lot safer....but they do find odd corners, watering cans and the like attractive

We had them nesting on a shelf in a shed once. The younger ones of any species seem to get the worst nest sites. Not sure if that is because the best ones are taken by the more experienced birds, or just learning curve of finding the best sites.
