Hmm, its a while since I used OE now, but I think it's relatively straightforward. If I can re-install I'll come back to you, if not I'm sure someone else will know.
Click Mail tab, then Add>Mail
Display name whatever you want emails from that address to be sent as (Stacey or whatever)
Email address the new email address
incoming mail is going to be pop3, you'll be able to check the address from your previous account
outgoing mail you'll be able to check the address from your previous account
account name Should be what you use to log in to Pipex (stacey@piepx.com or whatever)
I've been putting in the usernae and password from the new mailbox and it was flashing all sorts of boxes at me. I've now put in the original account info but with the new addy and display name. It's not going mental any more but I haven't recieved any of he emails I've sent myself. Maybe it takes time to get activated
When it was configured with the different username & passwords it just keeps popping up login/password boxes and not letting me in. Now I've configured it the other way that's stopped happening but no emails have arrived (I've sent at least 5)
If you are using the original account username and password but the new display name and email address it won't work. What you are doing is checking the original email address twice now. The display name and email address have no bearing on the actual account, only the username and password does.
It sounds like it is a username/password problem, perhaps just a typo. Is your password a mixture of upper and lower case for example?
Confirm from the original working account what the format is for the username. It will be something like yourname@dial.pipex.com or yourname@dsl.pipex.net. You can confirm that by looking at the old account. "yourname" is whatever you chose for the new address
Try typing the password in notepad or the Username box first so you can see it rather than just a row of *****. That way you can confirm it is right and then copy and paste it to Outlook Express.
